Why does Earth Suck So much?

(Subtitled Rekka's thoughts on the intelligence and wisdom of the human race and the mistakes they've made along the way and Rekka's idea of the meaning of life or so Rekka percieves it.)

"Peace on Earth...can it be? Years from now, perhaps we'll see." -David Bowie and Bing Crosby...Little Drummer Boy and Peace on Earth duet.

What is intelligence? I beleive intelligence is the ability to hold two opposite ideas in the mind at the same time. Wisdom fits into this all. When you get right down to it, the only thing worth having is wisdom, because it is worth taking the long hard journey to wisdom that earns wisdom for you.

If *Allan Bond had possessed a little wisdom he would not have landed in jail - or likewise Hitler would not have terminated his existence as a pile of ashes in a bunker!
*(multi - millionaire Australian entrepreneur whose business crashed and who was subsequently found guilty on multiple charges of fraud and embezzlement.)

This book is not intended to surpass the sages of past or present times but just to indicate there is a way to ride the waves of life up and down and upside down and still come out on top. To try to make plain and obvious that the wisdom and symbolism of the ages which we have sadly neglected (particularly for the last hundred years or so) is as true to-day as it was then.
To find meaning in life, not from church cant, sectarian tracts or esoteric beliefs but in the only place you will ever find it - in your own true "Self’.
If you stick with it you will find it interesting, exhilarating, rewarding and tremendous fun although sometimes maddening when you can’t see something you feel you should be able to easily comprehend.
It is indeed a worthy quest, I wish you well.

At long last the three great frauds, the three great deceptions that have befuddled mankind since the beginning, and particularly for the last 2000 years, are beginning to be exposed for the festering sore of evil they truly represent. They are:-
1 THE FALLACY THAT THE MAN MADE CONCEPTION OF CHURCH RELIGION HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE REALITY OF GOD.
2 THE FALLACY THAT ROMANTIC LOVE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE REALITY OF LOVE.
3 THE FALLACY THAT THE EGO WITHOUT THE SOUL IS PROGRESSIVE REALITY

So there you have it, trick no.1-
Never accept anything without question, not anything at all no matter from where you hear it or read it. from iudge or jury, parson or priest, friend or foe. prime minister or president and most of all from yourself
Well, that would seem to be a perfectly simple and logical thing to do but why don't we do it? Why has it taken 2000 years and more and almost destruction of the planet for mankind to wake up and even begin to start doing it?
Damn it, all history is full of examples, each more devastating than the last, until finally a whole nation murders seven million of its inhabitants because it accepted what it was told to do without question, Heil Hitler!
But it did not start with Hitler did it? In the "Outline of History" by H.G. Wells you will see the same old pattern of war, persecution and massacre repeated throughout history for the same old stupid fallacious reasons and often at the behest of some church religion. And still it goes on.
Why, oh why, oh why?
Can you answer that question? Has that question ever occurred to you? Do you think it needs to be answered? Do you think I can answer it?
Democracy does not always work as well as it should but the last century has shown us very plainly and painfully that it is a long way ahead of any other form of government, although there are still a few misguided souls around the world with their eyes in their backsides who can't see what is right in front of their noses.
With regard to asking questions perhaps it is equally important, (in terms of the Grail and Who does the Grail serve?) to ask the right question. Damn fool questions only waste time and elicit similar reply's as you may observe from parliamentary proceedings. But in order to ask questions you have to think and in order to ask the right questions you have to think a bit harder, so back we come to thinking and then the big question is not what we think (we all know that) but WHY we think that way, which very few of us know So my answer to "why oh why" is:
BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT YET LEARNT HOW TO BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND WHY WE THINK ABOUT ANTHING THE WAY WE DO.
Hitler told the German people it was necessary to murder all the Jews and that was exactly what the German people did (or tried to do) without question.
Not exactly very good thinking was it?
So why is it that through all the centuries we have not yet learnt to comprehend why we think the way we do? Is the answer to be found in philosophy, law, anthropology, economics, church religions, ethics or science?
Well, those directions of human endeavour have been around for a hell of a long time and certainly made no difference to the question we are asking, nor do they show any signs of doing that in the foreseeable future. Our question is directed towards the way we think, to how our mind actually functions and that, for some reason, is not at all a very popular subject is it? Just mention the word psychology to some people and they will immediately produce an urgent reason to be somewhere else, or they will look at you with consternation and an air of superior wisdom and say something like "oh that has to do with the mind, you can't tamper with that you know".
This attitude, which is ubiquitous throughout our society, infuriates me because HOW OUR MIND WORKS SEEMS TO ME TO BE THE MOST FASCINATING, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ON EARTH AND ALSO THE THING WE KNOW THE LEAST ABOUT!
With all the benefits that science and technological progress has brought us we should all be reasonably happy but I do not see much sign of that do you? Nor do I believe that rot about 'life was not meant to be easy'. Why not?
Because life was meant to be hard. If it wasn't hard, we'd all be robots, all the same. There would be no wars, no crime, no poverty. We'd all be like the people in Brave New World and 1984. There would be no chaos. Chaos is what keeps our system running. In a perfect system, a ordered system, there would be no errors. But an act of chaos would shut down EVERYTHING. But in an unordered system, an act of chaos would only shut ONE thing down.

-Greetings from my world, Rekka.
